MOST LIBERAL STATE IN THE US SAYS WIND IS STILL NOT GREEN ENOUGH

  • The Biden administration on Friday canceled a planned auction of offshore wind development rights off the coast of Oregon after the state's governor said she did not support the sale.

    • Let’s not act surprised that the state liberal enough to fully decriminalize hard drugs has a governor who uses them while coming up with her energy policy.

  • Oregon Governor Tina Kotek sent a letter to BOEM Director Elizabeth Klein seeking a halt to offshore wind leasing off the Oregon coast. Kotek cited broad concerns from labor, fishing, conservation and renewable energy groups and said the state needed more time to complete an offshore wind "roadmap" process required by a state law passed earlier this year.

    • Yes, the same group fear-mongering climate change concerns for 20+ years telling us the earth will be ending soon if we don’t do something… needs more time to get their roadmap process down before doing something.

  • "I remain convinced that offshore wind holds exciting promise to be part of our nation’s clean energy future, but in Oregon, actions of significance must be done the Oregon way," Kotek said in the letter.

    • When asked if by β€œThe Oregon Way” she meant continuing passing legislation that incentivizes hard drug use as a means to distract citizens from the trainwreck of an operation their government is running, Kotek replied β€œyes, the oregon way, that’s what I said.”
